Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a CT Technologist at Cobb Hospital to deliver safe, high-quality CT imaging and support a positive patient experience. You will work within a collaborative radiology team to ensure accurate imaging, patient comfort, and strict adherence to imaging protocols.

The role requires a radiologic technology program, ARRT certifications, BLS, and at least 1 year of radiology experience. Join a health system that values growth, education, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography); ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography).
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment independently and maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients appropriately.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are finalized in RIS/PACS; include transfers/retrievals as needed.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and restock life-support equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes; collaborate with technologists to support department flow.
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, and follow regulatory requirements.
