Under general supervision of the CT Manager, and following established policies and procedures, operates a CT (computed tomography) scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathologies. The technologist provides technical and ancillary support to the department mission through demonstrated clinical and academic competency in CT. Clinical and academic competency is defined as completing training, meeting all clinical responsibilities in assigned areas, working unsupervised in the clinical setting, rotating to all areas as needed, and holding appropriate licensure and advanced certification as required by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists), the ACR (American College of Radiology), and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
