Job summary

Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a CT Technologist to perform imaging studies and support diagnostic processes. You will work with physicians to ensure high-quality exams and patient care in a fast-paced radiology department.

The role requires ARRT registration, Kansas licensure within 90 days, and BLS. Prior CT registry is preferred and ongoing professional development is encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Kansas State Board licensure within 90 days of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification from AHA or ARC Healthcare Provider CPR.
  • Preferred: Advanced CT registry within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Adapt technique to patient age group while respecting cultural and spiritual needs.
  • Position and prepare patients for exams.
  • Perform procedures and monitor patient throughout and after exam.
  • Document each study performed accurately.
  • Perform all computer and PACS functions.
  • Follow Radiation dose monitoring guidelines.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The CT Technologist performs Imaging studies of various parts of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injury.

What you will do in this role:
  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs.
  • Positions and prepares patients for exams according to the type of procedure to be performed
  • Performs procedures and assesses patients throughout and responds to patients needs as appropriate
  • Completes appropriate documentation for each study performed
  • Performs all computer and PACS functions
  • Observes safety regulations and aseptic practice techniques to protect patients and staff
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Universal protocols
  • Uses professional judgment and critical thinking when performing procedures
  • Participates in orientation and training of new staff members and instructs students during their clinical rotations
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of the scanners and exam protocols in order to ensure the highest quality procedures
  • Follows all Radiation dose monitoring guidelines
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualifications for this role:
Required Registration, Licensure or Certification:
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts within 90 days of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through the American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR
Preferred Registration, Licensure or Certification:
  • Advanced CT registry within 6 months
Required Education or Experience:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
Preferred Education or Experience:
  • One year of experience in an Imaging Department
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
