Job summary

Sarah Bush Lincoln is seeking a CT Technologist to produce diagnostic CT images for radiologists, perform radiographic and DEXA procedures, and ensure image quality by adjusting technique and patient positioning. This role requires knowledge of equipment operation, safety, and ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure while delivering excellent results.

Qualifications

• AS: Radiologic Technology (Required) ARR T - CT, ARRT CT certification.
• ARRT - Radiography (R) - within 1 year of hire - ARRT

Responsibilities

• Accurate image identification.
• Assures accuracy and high quality images.
• Completes continuing education on CT specific safety annually.
• Obtains proper consent for procedures.
• Performs CT exams in addition to Radiographic and DEXA exams by setting, adjusting, manipulating, and controlling a variety of complex electronic equipment.
• Performs intravenous injection of contrast media products under the guidance of the Radiologist.
• Provides proper documentation in patient chart of radiation dose and contrast use.
• Remains current regarding Creatinine & GFR levels to aid in determining the use of contrast and consults w/ physician or nurse as appropriate.
• Utilizes ALARA principles to reduce radiation exposure to staff members and patients.
• Utilizes PACS and HIS system to archive and record patient data.

Job Description

CT Technologist is responsible for the production of diagnostic images for interpretation by the radiologist; the employee should have knowledge regarding the utilization of equipment and be able to make adjustments in technique and patient positioning to provide images of excellent quality. In addition, CT Technologists are responsible for providing Radiographic procedures and Dexa imaging of excellent quality, with the knowledge regarding the utilization of equipment necessary to perform examinations.

6:00pm -6:30am with every other weekend rotation

Pay based on experience starting at $32.10 + $3.00 shift differential. Holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

• Accurate image identification.
• Assures accuracy and high quality images.
• Completes continuing education on CT specific safety annually.
• Obtains proper consent for procedures.
• Performs CT exams in addition to; Radiographic and DEXA exams by setting, adjusting, manipulating, and controlling a variety of complex electronic equipment.
• Performs intravenous injection of contrast media products under the guidance of the Radiologist.
• Provides proper documentation in patient chart of radiation dose and contrast use.
• Remains current regarding knowledge of Creatinine & GFR levels to aid in determining the use of contrast. Understands criteria, normal vs. elevated levels, protocols to follow for abnormal levels, and consults w/ physician or nurse as appropriate.
• Utilizes ALARA principles to reduce radiation exposure to staff members and patients.
• Utilizes PACS and HIS system to archive and record patient data.
• Utilizes proper radiation safety techniques to scan patients and provide excellent quality at minimal dose.

Requirements

• AS: Radiologic Technology (Required)ARRT - Computed Tomography (CT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• ARRT - Radiography (R) - (within 1 year of hire) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• BLS or CPR certification (within 90 days of hire) - Sarah Bush Lincoln
