Job summary

Sarah Bush Lincoln is seeking a CT Technologist to produce diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation and to perform radiographic and DEXA imaging with proper technique and patient positioning.

Shift is 6:00pm - 6:30am with every other weekend rotation. Responsibilities include image accuracy, safety, consent, and documentation of dose and contrast usage.

Qualifications

• AS: Radiologic Technology is required.
• ARRT CT certification is required.
• ARRT Radiography certification within 1 year of hire.
• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• IEMA Illinois registration.

Responsibilities

• Accurate image identification.
• Ensures accuracy and high quality images.
• Completes continuing education on CT safety annually.
• Obtains proper consent for procedures.
• Performs CT exams plus radiographic and DEXA imaging with complex equipment.
• Performs intravenous contrast injections under radiologist guidance.
• Documents radiation dose and contrast use in patient charts.
• Remains current on Creatinine & GFR levels for contrast decisions; consults as needed.
• Utilizes ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
• Uses PACS and HIS to archive patient data.
• Adheres to radiation safety during scans to deliver high-quality images.

CT Technologist

CT Technologist is responsible for the production of diagnostic images for interpretation by the radiologist; the employee should have knowledge regarding the utilization of equipment and be able to make adjustments in technique and patient positioning to provide images of excellent quality. In addition, CT Technologists are responsible for providing Radiographic procedures and Dexa imaging of excellent quality, with the knowledge regarding the utilization of equipment necessary to perform examinations.

Shift schedule: 6:00pm - 6:30am with every other weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Accurate image identification.


• Assures accuracy and high quality images.


• Completes continuing education on CT specific safety annually.


• Obtains proper consent for procedures.


• Performs CT exams in addition to; Radiographic and DEXA exams by setting, adjusting, manipulating, and controlling a variety of complex electronic equipment.


• Performs intravenous injection of contrast media products under the guidance of the Radiologist.


• Provides proper documentation in patient chart of radiation dose and contrast use.


• Remains current regarding knowledge of Creatinine & GFR levels to aid in determining the use of contrast. Understands criteria, normal vs. elevated levels, protocols to follow for abnormal levels, and consults w/ physician or nurse as appropriate.


• Utilizes ALARA principles to reduce radiation exposure to staff members and patients.


• Utilizes PACS and HIS system to archive and record patient data.


• Utilizes proper radiation safety techniques to scan patients and provide excellent quality at minimal dose.

Compensation

Pay based on experience starting at $32.10 + $3.00 shift differential. Holiday rotation.

Estimated Compensation Range: $32.10 - $49.76 Pay based on experience.
