Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a CT Technologist at Monmouth Medical Center to perform computed tomography under the supervision of a radiologist. You will prepare patients, administer contrast, and ensure radiation safety while delivering high-quality diagnostic images.

The role requires graduation from an AMA-approved radiologic technology program, ARRT registration, CT certification, NJ license, and prior CT experience. BLS certification from the American Heart Association is also required.

Cat Scan Technician – RWJBarnabas Health

At RWJBarnabas Health, the Cat Scan Technician plays a critical role in patient care and diagnostics. Operating under the supervision of a board-certified radiologist, they work with a high level of independence. They are responsible for preparing patients, administering contrast dye, ensuring radiation safety, and delivering high-quality diagnostic images.

A typical day for a Cat Scan Technician may include:

• Analyzes patient physical condition, age and suspected pathology for proper technique
• Assists Radiologist in performing certain radiographic procedures
• Correctly marks images with time and body position
• Ensures patient comfort, physical and mental well being during the examination
• Ensures that room is properly stocked with all needed supplies prior to the beginning of the procedure
• Explains procedures, keeps patient informed of progress and assists patients in transferring on to/off examination table for procedures
• Observes equipment for proper functioning and reports malfunctions to supervisor
• Properly prepares room before patient enters and cleans it after patient exits
• Properly uses the Radiology Information System to arrive, change if necessary and complete cases
• Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patients age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care
