Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, NJ seeks a variable shift, PRN Cat Scan Technologist to perform CT imaging and interventional procedures for both adults and children. Responsibilities include preparing patients, selecting contrast type and dose, providing patient instructions, and venipuncture per guidelines.

Required are a NJ radiologic technologist license, ARRT certification, CEU credits, and BLS within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in CT scan.
• Active and current New Jersey State License—NJDEP Radiologic Technologist.
• Maintains CEU Credits.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) certification.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• The Cat Scan Technologist will be responsible for performing Cat Scan diagnostic imaging and Cat Scan interventional procedures on adult and pediatric patients.
• Prepare patients for scanning
• Determine appropriate type and dose of contrast to be administered
• Provide accurate explanations and instructions
• Perform venipuncture, IV patency and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines
• Monitor the patient’s physical condition for any adverse reactions during the procedure
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
