Job summary

Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, NJ is seeking a rotating shift, full-time Cat Scan (CT) Technologist to join our radiology team. The role involves performing CT imaging and interventional procedures on adult and pediatric patients, with patient preparation and contrast administration.

You will ensure safety and accuracy, perform venipuncture, monitor for adverse reactions, and maintain licensure requirements (NJ license, ARRT, BLS).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years’ CT scan experience.
• Active NJDEP Radiologic Technologist license.
• Maintains CEU credits.
• ARRT certification.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT diagnostic imaging and CT interventional procedures on adult and pediatric patients.
• Prepare patients for scanning.
• Determine appropriate contrast type and dose.
• Provide explanations and instructions to patients.
• Perform venipuncture and IV maintenance per guidelines.
• Monitor patient condition for adverse reactions during procedures.

Associate’s degree in Applied Science (preferred)

Responsibilities

• The Cat Scan Technologist will be responsible for performing Cat Scan diagnostic imaging and Cat Scan interventional procedures on adult and pediatric patients.
• Prepare patients for scanning
• Determine appropriate type and dose of contrast to be administered
• Provide accurate explanations and instructions
• Perform venipuncture, IV patency and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines
• Monitor the patient’s physical condition for any adverse reactions during the procedure
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in CT scan.
• Active and current New Jersey State License—NJDEP Radiologic Technologist.
• Maintains CEU Credits.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) certification.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Associate’s degree is Applied Science.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education , and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
