Job summary

HCA Florida JFK Hospital seeks a CT Tech Specialist to perform CT imaging in inpatient and outpatient settings, ensure high-quality results, and support patient care. The role requires operating CT equipment, obtaining consent, preparing patients, and explaining procedures across age groups from newborn to geriatric.

You will collaborate with physicians and imaging staff, follow sterile techniques, and adhere to department policies while documenting each case promptly.

Qualifications

• Florida State DOH General Radiographer and ARRT CT Registry or registry eligible and acquire within six months of hire
• Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Imaging
• One year of CT experience preferred
• Vocational School Graduate or High School/GED
• Registered Radiographer (ARRT)

Responsibilities

• Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Determine most suitable posture/position and shield patients
• Collaborate with physicians and Imaging staff
• Practice aseptic/sterile technique for all procedures
• Work within the CT Tech scope of practice
• Follow infection control measures in CT department
• Complete required documentation immediately after each case

The CT Technician works in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting performing a variety of CT Scan imaging procedures used to diagnose medical conditions. You will operate the CT scan equipment to produce quality images for detecting pathology and abnormalities in patients. You will obtain consent, prepare patients, and explain the procedure to them. The patient population may range from newborn to geriatric.

You will:

• Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Determine most suitable anatomical posture/position and shield patients accordingly
• Collaborate with physicians and other Imaging staff as needed
• Practice aseptic/sterile technique for all procedures
• Work within the CT Tech scope of practice according to policy and procedures
• Follow all general infection control measures and those specific to the CT scan department
• Complete required documentation accurately immediately after completing each case

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
• State Registered Radiologic Technician
• Vocational School Graduate, or High School Graduate / GED
• Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Imaging
• One year of experience in performing CT preferred
• Florida State DOH General Radiographer and ARRT CT Registry or registry eligible and acquire within six months of hire
