Job summary

WVU Health System in Bridgeport, WV seeks a CT technologist to perform diagnostic CT exams, prepare rooms, and ensure safety while rotating through radiology as assigned.

Requirements include graduation from a Medical Imaging Program, ARRT or NMTCB certification within 6 months, WV radiography license, and BLS within 30 days. Weekend shifts and ladder opportunities are described with a focus on patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.
• Radiography certification with ARRT or NMTCB within 6 months of hire.
• Current or temporary Radiography license as required by the state board where services will be provided (WV license or NM/DT license).
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
• State and Federal background checks as required for regulated areas.

Responsibilities

• Prepares room, equipment, materials, as needed for patient exams, including sterile technique.
• Cleans and disinfects rooms and equipment following each patient exam, using current infection control policies.
• Performs examinations per Physician’s orders and explains procedures to the patients.
• Documents status of patient in reference to radiology/CT procedure on patient’s chart.
• Produces diagnostic quality images utilizing CT equipment and effectively judges images for proper technique.
• Maintains patient safety and follows radiation protection guidelines.
• Utilizes PACS to ensure exams are completed and available for radiologist review.
