Job summary

United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV invites an experienced Computed Tomography Technologist to join our CT Department. You will prepare rooms, perform diagnostic CT exams, adhere to radiation safety, and document procedures for radiologist review.

The ideal candidate has graduation from a medical imaging program, ARRT or NMTCB certification within 6 months of hire, and a radiography license per state requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.
• ARRT or NMTCB certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Must possess current or temporary Radiography license as required by the state board where services will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepares room, equipment, materials for patient exams and maintains sterile technique.
• Performs examinations per physician orders and communicates procedures to patients; documents variations from protocol.
• Observes patient and equipment, reports unusual occurrences, assists patients as needed.
• Documents patient status in radiology/CT chart; notes repeats and quality variations for improvement.
• Maintains stock, handles office tasks, ensures proper film labeling and technique for image quality.
• Practices safe radiation exposure and general safety for patients, visitors, and staff; participates in safety programs.
• Operates PACS to ensure exams are available for radiologists and referring physicians.
• Provides care for neonatal to geriatric patients; may perform IV insertions/blood draws as needed.
• Administers IV/Oral/Rectal contrast per radiologist protocol and orders; supports emergency/operative imaging as required.
