Job summary

West Virginia University Health System seeks a CT technologist to perform diagnostic CT procedures, rotate through radiology, and uphold radiation safety standards. The role requires ARRT/NMTCB certification within 6 months of hire and WV radiography license where applicable.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, assisting radiologists, document clinical data, and ensuring high-quality imaging with PACS support.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.
• Radiography certification with ARRT or NMTCB within 6 months of hire.
• Radiography license as required by state boards WV/OH/MD/PA/others; West Virginia license noted.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• State and Federal background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares room, equipment and supplies for patient exams with aseptic technique.
• Cleans and disinfects rooms and equipment after each exam per infection control policy.
• Performs examinations per physician orders and explains procedures to patients.
• Documents protocol variations due to patient condition and relays data to Radiologist.
• Transports and assists patients as needed and maintains accurate chart entries.
• Operates PACS to ensure exams are available for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintains proper film labeling and quality control for imaging.
• Ensures safe radiation exposure and general safety for patients and staff.
