Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform CT imaging procedures at our Wisconsin facility. You will obtain patient history, verify physician orders, and ensure exam accuracy while positioning patients and enforcing radiation safety protocols.

The role requires an accredited radiologic technology program, state licensure in Wisconsin, and ARRT registration with CT certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• Knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and basic radiation safety.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients and other staff members.
• Ability to work independently and utilize intermediate computer skills.
• Certification Addendum and ongoing annual educational requirements for hospital certifications.

Responsibilities

• Operates CT equipment to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures including imaging of body, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis and extremities.
• Obtains medical history and matches requisitions to ensure exam accuracy.
• Positions patient and selects scanning factors; maintains radiation safety per regulatory guidelines.
• Prepares and administers contrast media under Radiologist direction and assists with imaging techniques.
• Post-processes images, labels them correctly, and updates patient data in the RIS.
• Maintains records and billing codes; ensures accurate charges.
• Identifies equipment issues and conducts quality assurance tests.
• Performs patient positioning and transport with safe lifting techniques.
• Adapts care to age-specific patient needs per department standards.
• Maintains annual certifications as required (e.g., DNV/CARF as applicable).
