UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a full-time CT Tech Assistant to join our dynamic imaging team. This position offers steady evening/night shifts (12-hour shift opportunities available) with rotating weekends and holidays.

As a CT Tech Assistant, you will support staff technologists and department team members in delivering high-quality Computed Tomography (CT) services. Under the supervision of a certified technologist, you will assist in providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Meet patients upon arrival to the department.
2. Assist with paperwork and documentation.
3. Answer calls regarding scheduling, questions, and patient history.
4. Escort patients to dressing areas and assist as needed.
5. Assist with lifting and transferring patients to and from exam tables.
6. Establish IV access for contrast administration following procedures.
7. Assist in preparing oral contrast and provide patient instructions under technologist supervision.
8. Properly pad, position, center, and align the patient and CT table for imaging according to protocols.
9. Perform telemetry monitoring during exams if applicable and support patient care.
10. Provide discharge instructions as directed by the technologist.
11. Report equipment malfunctions to technologist and supervisor.
12. Participate in QC functions, including daily and weekly testing.
13. Transport patients as required.
14. Clean and prepare exam rooms following procedures.
15. High school diploma or equivalent required.
16. At least one year of healthcare experience required.
17. Medical terminology and recent medical/imaging office experience preferred.
18. IV insertion experience preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

1. CPR certification per AHA standards within 30 days of hire.
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
