Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is seeking a day shift, PRN Cardiac Catheterization Lab Radiology Technologist in Montclair, NJ. You will perform diagnostic radiographic exams, protect patients from radiation, and support imaging operations within a fast-paced hospital setting.

Requirements include NJ Diagnostic Radiology licensure (ARRT) and BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire. This on-site role focuses on patient safety and accurate image acquisition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NJ Diagnostic Radiology licensure, ARRT.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Obtain diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level.
• Identify each patient prior to the exam using two identifiers.
• Gain patient cooperation by explaining procedures and answering questions.
• Perform portable X-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency department.
• Provide lead shielding to minimize radiation exposure.
• Accept assignments as directed by the Medical Imaging Coordinator and complete tasks accordingly.
• Enter data in electronic medical records.
• Prepare examination and treatment areas with required instruments.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level.
• Identify each patient prior to the exam, utilizing two patient identifiers according to hospital policy.
• Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxiety, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions.
• Perform portable X-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and the emergency room.
• Provide a lead protective shield for patients, reducing radiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable.
• Accept all assignments as prescribed by the Medical Imaging Coordinator regarding room assignment and work to be completed.
• Enter data utilizing electronic medical records.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
• Maintain policies and procedures as they relate to HIPAA compliance.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
