USA Health is seeking a part-time Radiology/CT technologist in Mobile, AL. The role involves rotating between Radiology and CT departments, supporting imaging procedures, and training students as needed.

The position requires ARRT registry within 1 year and a relevant Radiologic Technology education. Emphasis on patient care, safety, and accuracy in imaging will be essential in this role.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, completion of an approved Radiologic Technology course, and 1 year of experience conducting routine diagnostic procedures.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology may substitute for up to one year of experience in conducting routine diagnostic procedures. Preferred.
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Registry in Diagnostic Radiology within 1 Year Required
  • Advanced registry is highly preferred and may be required for certain modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Rotate within the Radiology and CT departments as needed.
  • Assist with training Radiology and CT students.
  • Perform image management tasks such as annotations and labeling.
  • Maintain competency across imaging equipment including CT, radiology fluoroscopy, and post-processing software.
  • Demonstrate proper patient positioning and correct labeling of images.
  • Apply appropriate scanning factors and protocols based on patient and body part.
  • Provide radiation protection to patient, family, staff and self per safety standards.
  • Recognize emergencies and initiate code procedures as needed.
  • Perform patient assessment and screening within scope of practice.
  • Review prior imaging and history to ensure correct exam is ordered, and consult radiologist when needed.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and assist radiologist during procedures.
  • Prepare patients for IV injections and manage IV access.
  • Administer IV contrast per protocol and provide oral/rectal contrast as ordered.
  • Maintain competency in point-of-care testing (POCT) for creatinine/eGFR.
  • Follow CAP and CU A guidelines for POCT and imaging safety.
  • Communicate with patients and families, ensuring understanding of the procedure.
  • Ensure images are available for physician review on PACS and document all charges and notes.
  • Maintain department cleanliness and inventory of supplies.
  • Complete all mandatory educational requirements and department/hospital duties.
  • Attend ongoing education and adhere to infection control policies.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent, approved Radiologic Technology course, 1 year of routine diagnostic procedures experience
Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology may substitute for up to one year of experience
