Description

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, the CT/Radiologic Technologist is responsible for independently operating CT and Radiology equipment. Performs technical procedures requiring independent judgment, serving as a liaison between patients and licensed practitioners, upholding WIHCC’s values, and maintaining confidentiality.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Receive, document, and relay verbal, written, and electronic orders.
  • Corroborate patient’s clinical history for licensed practitioner use.
  • Maintain records including patient info, images, interpretations, and reports.
  • Provide technical summaries of findings to physicians.
  • Ensure procedural requirements are met to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Monitor image quality and adjust equipment as needed.
  • Select appropriate equipment settings and position patients correctly.
  • Prepare and explain procedures to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Administer first aid and provide life support when necessary.
  • Assess and monitor patients’ physical, emotional, and mental status.
  • Record accurate patient history and prior test results.
  • Perform exams on all age groups and maintain competency.
  • Notify providers of critical findings.
  • Adhere to departmental policies and safety standards.
  • Document procedures accurately for billing and records.
  • Review and update protocol manuals.
  • Maintain a safe environment and follow radiation safety practices.
  • Manage supplies and participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Administer contrast agents following guidelines.
  • Complete assigned tasks and uphold confidentiality and ethical standards.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, documented CT experience, ARRT registration, three years CT experience, CPR certification, bilingual skills preferred, valid driver’s license, background check clearance, and compliance with Child Care requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Understanding of anatomy, radiologic practices, patient care, confidentiality, computer skills, technical operation of equipment, judgment in exams, communication, teamwork, physical ability to lift heavy equipment, adaptability, and customer service skills.

Physical Demands:

Regular walking, sitting, handling, reaching, talking, standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting, smelling, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment:

Office or outdoor environment with moderate noise, exposure to risks like bloodborne pathogens and chemicals, with possible evening, weekend, and irregular hours.

Preference: Absolute preference to qualified Navajo applicants, then qualified American Indian applicants.
