Job summary

Montefiore Nyack Hospital is seeking a CT/Special Procedures Technologist to operate the CT scanner and produce diagnostic radiographs. You will position patients, administer contrast, enter technical data, and ensure image quality per Radiologist directives.

Responsibilities include operating fluoroscopy, monitoring patients, and maintaining strict radiation safety standards. Requires ARRT and NY radiology licensure with CT certification within 180 days; BLS within 90 days; IV contrast

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate Degree and NY state licensure for radiology
• At least 1 year general radiography experience is required; 1 year in CT preferred
• ARRT CT certification and NYS radiologic license required upon hire or within specified timelines
• BLS certification required within 90 days; IV certification training available onsite

Responsibilities

• Operate CT scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs per physician orders
• Position and immobilize patients and ensure safety and comfort during procedures
• Administer IV contrast as directed and document scan parameters
• Review images for quality and communicate findings to Radiologist
• Maintain ALARA radiation safety practices and adhere to department protocols

Education

Associate Degree Required

One year general radiographic experience Required

One year CT experience Preferred

ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire Required

RADIOL Licensed Radiologist - NY State Upon Hire Required

ARRT-CT - Computed Tomography Required (Within 180 Days)

BLS - American Heart Association Within 90 Days Required

IV certification - training available onsite Within 90 Days Required
