Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health in New London, CT is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in CT and diagnostic imaging to provide high-quality care for acutely ill patients. This role requires proficiency with multi-slice CT scanners, adherence to ALARA guidelines, and strong teamwork with the radiology department.

You will perform a variety of radiologic procedures, inform patients about procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure safe equipment operation.

Qualifications

• High school/GED and formal radiologic technology training program
• ARRT registration and CT certification as required
• Connecticut state licensure or eligibility required
• BLS certification is required

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients undergoing CT and imaging exams
• Informs patients with full details and expectations of procedures
• Maintains competency to perform diagnostic exams on multi-slice CT scanners
• Facilitates patient flow including prioritizing inpatients and ER patients
• Produces diagnostic quality radiographs with proper technical factors
• Completes paperwork and documentation accurately and timely
• Communicates effectively with team members and other departments
• Operates all equipment safely per manufacturer specifications and ALARA guidelines
• Follows procedures on safe patient interactions and body mechanics
• Meets performance expectations for customer service and teamwork
• Performs other duties to ensure smooth department operation
