Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, is seeking an experienced CT Technologist to perform CT examinations and support radiology operations in Rockville, MD.

You will work with radiologists and staff to ensure high-quality imaging, manage contrast administration, and assist with interventional procedures while maintaining patient safety and throughput.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required.
• Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography.
• 1 year CT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT examinations in accordance with radiologists' protocols and operate CT scanner and ancillary equipment.
• Assist radiologist and staff in interventional procedures.
• Identify patients and review orders to select scanning protocols for quality and safety.
• Document CT procedures in HIS, RIS, PACS and related systems.
• Maximize patient throughput and collaborate with team to manage high patient volume, including transport of patients as needed.
• Provide general patient care within the CT department and support orientation of new staff and students.

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced CT Technologist for our CT Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a CT Technologist you will:

• Perform CT examinations in accordance with the protocols established by the radiologists. Demonstrates proficiency in operating CT-scanner and all ancillary equipment within CT department. Assists radiologist and other staff in interventional procedures.
• Understand principles and dangers involved in the administration of oral and intravenous contrast. Identifies contraindications to IV contrast administration and recognizes symptoms of IV contrast reactions.
• Properly identify patients, review orders and select scanning protocols in order to maximize quality and safe patient care in CT.
• Accurately perform documentation in all computer systems within CT and Imaging Services pertinent to CT scanning (HIS, RIS, PACS, Telelradiography, image reformatting)
• Maximize patient throughput and demonstrates teamwork with coworkers by managing large patient volume including the transport of patients to and/or from CT as necessary.
• Provide general patient care as necessary within the CT department.
• Assist in orienting and training of new employees and students
