Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking an experienced CT Technologist to perform CT examinations, assist in interventional procedures, and support patient care and imaging workflows in the CT department.

The role involves operating the CT scanner, administering contrast, and coordinating with radiologists and staff to ensure high-quality scans and safe patient care. Per diem schedule with weekend requirements and a $55 per hour rate is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT accredited school of Radiography.
• 1 year of CT experience preferred.
• State of Maryland Registered Radiation Technologist license.
• ARRT (CT) certification.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT examinations in accordance with radiologist protocols.
• Operate CT scanner and ancillary equipment with proficiency.
• Assist radiologist and staff during interventional procedures.
• Administer oral and intravenous contrast, understanding principles, risks, and contraindications.
• Recognize and respond to IV contrast reactions.
• Identify patients, review orders, and select appropriate scanning protocols to maximize quality and safety.
• Document all scans accurately in imaging systems (HIS, RIS, PACS, Telereadiography, reformatting).
• Manage large patient volume, including patient transport, to maximize throughput and teamwork.
• Provide general patient care within the CT department.
• Orient and train new employees and students.

Schedule & Compensation

Employment Type: Per Diem. Hours per Week: 12 hours. Typical Daily Schedule: Every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 a.m.‑7:30 p.m. Shift Type: Day. Weekend and holiday requirements: required as needed. On‑call: none. Shift differential: eligible. Rate: $55 per hour.
