Job summary

JMC Jefferson Medical Center is seeking a Radiology CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT procedures in the department, rotating through radiology tasks while maintaining safety protocols. The role requires patient interaction, adherence to imaging protocols, and collaboration with radiologists.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.
• Radiography certification with the ARRT or NMTCB.
• Must possess current licensure as required by the state board.
• For WV: Radiological Technologist or Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic CT license.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• State and federal background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares room and equipment for patient exams, maintaining sterile technique and following infection control policies.
• Performs examinations per Physician’s orders and explains procedures to patients; documents variations from protocol and relays patient history to Radiologist.
• Observes patient and equipment; reports unusual occurrences and assists with patient transport.
• Documents patient status in the radiology/CT chart and records variances to support quality improvement.
• Maintains stock, performs general office duties, labels films correctly, and ensures technique consistency.
• Practices safe radiation exposure and overall patient safety for staff and visitors.
• Follows department and hospital policies; participates in patient safety and protection programs.
• Produces diagnostic quality CT images and judges technique for optimal anatomy visualization; handles emergency procedures.
• Performs CT studies with mobile radiographic equipment when needed and uses C-Arm in the surgical suite.
• Provides care for neonatal to geriatric patients; may perform IV insertion or contrast administration per protocol.
• Utilizes PACS to ensure exams are available for radiologists and referring physicians.
