Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a CT Technologist to perform routine CT procedures, mentor junior staff, and ensure patient safety. The role requires BLS and ARRT/NMTCB certification with CT certification within two years, plus a state license.

You will work in a fast-paced radiology setting, verifying orders, operating equipment, and ensuring high-quality imaging while maintaining confidentiality and adapting to a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred CT experience in a clinical setting.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice; BLS; ARRT (R) and/or NMTCB; advanced CT certification within two years.

Responsibilities

• Verifies orders and procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Operates imaging equipment per protocol, including IV placement.
• Reviews images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Maintains regulatory quality control and reporting as needed.
• Supports departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules and equipment upkeep.
• Interacts with patients to explain procedures and ensure comfort and consent.
