Job summary

Bechtel seeks a CSU Operations Supervisor for the Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) project in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Lead startup and initial operations for permanent plant equipment and systems from pre-commissioning to handover, directing a team to ensure safe, reliable operation within design parameters.

The role reports to the CSU Operations Lead and involves coordinating with commissioning and operations teams, developing procedures, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality programs

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive experience delivering large-scale combined cycle power projects.
• Proficiency in interpreting DCS logic to support commissioning activities.
• Knowledge of commissioning behind the meter power generation is preferred.
• Ability to lead a team and communicate effectively with management and clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of project estimates.
• Lead safety programs to meet process, personal safety, and environmental standards.
• Coordinate technical input from on-site teams, supporting commissioning and operations.
• Supervise performance testing and commissioning demonstrations per contract.
• Oversee equipment maintenance and startup issues with engineering support.
• Participate in HAZOP/HAZID and 3D Model reviews.
• Prepare operations procedures and documents for startup scope.
• Implement startup philosophies for combined cycle and simple cycle blocks.
• Review P&IDs and electrical diagrams for startup sequencing.
• Collaborate with vendors and engineering to ensure reliability.
