Job summary

The Research Foundation for SUNY at Binghamton seeks a Project Coordinator for the Collegiate Science & Technology Entry Program (CSTEP). The role focuses on developing and implementing programming to support academic success and graduate entry for underrepresented students in STEM and health fields.

You will work with the Project Director to administer the program, mentor students, and coordinate outreach, while ensuring compliance with regulations and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and experience working with first-generation and income-eligible college students.
• Strong organizational, oral, written, and computer skills.
• Self-motivated and able to exercise independent judgment.
• Access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the recruitment efforts to serve eligible participants annually.
• Co-planning and coordinating CSTEP workshops, seminars, and/or classes.
• Assisting participants in securing mentors for research projects and summer internships.
• Providing consistent, regularly scheduled appointments with scholars.
• Coaching participants as they seek ways to overcome challenges.
• Facilitating opportunities for participants to engage in scholarly activities, including conference attendance and graduate school visits, as well as to network with others in academia.
• Co-planning trips and traveling with participants.
• Assisting the Project Director in overseeing compliance with federal regulations.
• Tracking performance measures, updating the program database, and assisting in preparing annual performance reports, including gathering data on CSTEP Alumni.
