Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for Inpatient Surgery at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital in Boardman, Ohio. The CST serves as the scrub tech, prepares sterile instruments, maintains the sterile field, and supports the surgical team during procedures.

This full-time role requires flexibility for day or afternoon shifts, rotating weekends and on-call readiness. Candidates must be certified (CST, NBSTSA/NCCT) with an associate degree in Surgical

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Surgical Technology (required)
• Certification as CST/NBSTSA/NCCT (required) or TS-C (note: TS-C not accepted in Cincinnati)
• BLS (preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care)
• One year perioperative or OR experience preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a high-stress environment

Responsibilities

• Functions as scrub person, assembling supplies and equipment
• Prepares sterile supplies and instruments and performs surgical counts
• Maintains sterile field and assists with aseptic technique
• Retrieves and labels specimens; reports implanted devices and drains
• Prepares skin prep, catheterization, and post-procedure cleaning as needed
• Participates in patient safety, training, and on-call duties
