Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh, NC is hiring a Clinical Nurse II for the Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) on the night shift. This 36-hour weekly full-time role supports high-acuity cardiovascular patients recovering from complex surgeries and involves ECMO and advanced monitoring.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and participate in ongoing performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Current RN license and BLS certification.
• ACLS certification or willingness to obtain per unit requirements.
• At least one year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education - Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self.
• Evaluation of Care - Identifies expected patient outcomes and collaborates with the team.
• Implementation - Delivers competent care for high-acuity cardiovascular patients and uses care plans.
• Leadership - Supports unit goals and promotes interdepartmental collaboration.
• Patient Assessment - Assesses and prioritizes needs for complex patients and families.
• Planning - Coordinates plan of care with multidisciplinary resources.
• Research - Reads journals and brings ideas for practice improvement.
