Job summary

UNC Health Care's Rex CSICU in Raleigh, NC, seeks an experienced Clinical Nurse II to join a 10-bed cardiovascular surgical ICU providing high‑level postoperative and critical care. You will work within a collaborative team, delivering ECMO and advanced hemodynamic care to complex patients, while supporting families and peers.

You will engage in ongoing learning, patient‑centered care, and multidisciplinary quality improvement initiatives in a fast-paced cardiovascular setting.

Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in North Carolina.
• BLS Certification required for patient care.
• ACLS Certification or willingness to obtain per unit requirements.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care to postoperative cardiovascular surgery patients.
• Monitor patients requiring advanced cardiovascular support therapies.
• Care for ECMO and other specialized interventions.
• Assess and respond rapidly to changing patient conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.
• Educate and support patients and families during recovery.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice.
• Mentor and support fellow nurses and promote a positive team environment.
