Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh is seeking a Clinical Nurse II for the Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU). This part-time night-shift role at UNC Rex Heart & Vascular Hospital focuses on delivering specialized care to critically ill cardiovascular surgery patients in a 10-bed unit.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team, manage high-acuity cases, and participate in education, policy adherence, and quality improvement efforts to advance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based care to high-acuity cardiovascular patients.
• Care for patients requiring ECMO, mechanical circulatory support, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families while supporting teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Participate in ongoing learning and quality improvement initiatives.
