Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia is seeking a Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to support the surgical team in the operating room. You will assist with sterile technique, equipment, and patient safety under the surgeon's guidance.

The role requires flexible hours, active call, and 2+ years scrub experience; a CSA/CSFA certification and BLS are required; strong anatomy knowledge and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CSA or CSFA certification required.
• Minimum 2 years surgical scrub experience.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures as scrub and first assistant.
• Prepare sterile field and instruments for procedures.
• Ensure patient safety, sterile technique and infection prevention throughout surgery.
• Assist with room turnover and terminal cleaning of the department.
• Follow surgeon guidance for instrument handling, suturing and hemostasis.
