Job summary

South Texas College seeks a Supplemental Instruction Leader to provide academic learning support for students, conducting supplemental instruction, tutoring in classrooms and skill labs, and assisting with daily operations of the College's learning centers.

You will lead in-class small group discussions, develop materials, and maintain records to promote student success. A high school diploma or GED is required, with college coursework preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete multiple tasks with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provides educational assistance to students in specific discipline to improve comprehension and mastery of the subject.
• Assists in preparation of workshops and materials to enhance student comprehension and supplement course assignments.
• Attends classes and/or holds study sessions for currently enrolled students as required.
• Guides students in diverse instructional settings, providing feedback and answering questions.
• Develops and maintains working relationships with instructors, students, and supervisor.
• Keeps regular records and lesson plans using required software and forms.
