Robinhood is seeking a security‑minded engineer to join the Cryptographic Services & Infrastructure team in Bellevue, WA and Menlo Park, CA. You’ll build and operate production services for encryption, decryption, and an in-house card-processing environment, gaining ownership across software, infrastructure, security, and operations.

Qualifications

• Experience building, operating, or supporting production services, distributed systems, or infrastructure.
• Proficiency writing production code in Python/Go/Java/C#/C++ or similar.
• Ability to work across software, infrastructure, and security domains.
• Clear and concise communication, proactive collaboration.
• Curiosity to learn security engineering and participate in on-call rotations.
• Prior experience in SRE, platform engineering, or cloud security.
• Familiarity with key management, secrets management, or cryptographic concepts.
• Experience handling sensitive financial data in regulated environments.
• Experience supporting internal migrations or platform adoption.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production services and infrastructure supporting key management, encryption, and decryption functions.
• Architect, launch, and scale the in-house card-processing environment to protect card, financial, and tax data.
• Write clean, maintainable production code and build tooling across software, infrastructure, and security controls.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to support migrations and promote shared cryptographic capabilities.
• Participate in rotating on-call to maintain high availability, security, and reliability as processing grows.
