Job summary

Robinhood is seeking an engineer to join the Cryptographic Services & Infrastructure team in Bellevue, WA (with presence in Menlo Park, CA). You will design, build, and operate production services for key management, encryption, and decryption, enabling secure handling of sensitive financial data across platforms.

This role offers collaboration across software, infrastructure, and security, with an emphasis on learning and growth in security engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience building/operating production services or distributed systems.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language (Python/Go/Java/C#/C++) with ability to reason about complex systems.
• Comfort working across software, infrastructure, and operational reliability.
• Clear, concise communication and proactive collaboration across teams.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn security engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production services and infrastructure for key management, encryption, and decryption functions.
• Architect, launch, and scale our in-house card-processing environment protecting sensitive data.
• Write clean production code and build tooling across software, infra, and security controls.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to support migrations and adoption of cryptographic capabilities.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to maintain high availability and security as volume grows.
