Eliassen Group in McLean/Plano area seeks a Cryptography Engineer to lead data protection initiatives, cryptography workstreams, and security governance across cloud-native environments.

You will implement cryptographic solutions, manage Protegrity protections, and collaborate with product teams to secure financial services platforms while leveraging Ansible and Terraform for automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years cryptography experience.
• 3+ years cyber security engineering.
• 2+ years cloud-native tech (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• 2+ years Unix/Linux administration; 1+ year SELinux.
• 2+ years Protegrity Data Protection.
• 2+ years with Ansible, Terraform Enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of technology projects focused on cryptography and cloud-based security.
• Collaborate with Cyber product managers and architecture teams.
• Assess security risks to data confidentiality and integrity.
• Design and implement cryptographic solutions with secure key management.
• Mature cryptography governance: policies, standards, guidelines, auditability.
• Serve as SME for Protegrity Data Protection in 5x9 environment.
• Deliver automation with Ansible for large RHEL servers and Protegrity lifecycle.
• Use Terraform Enterprise for AWS serverless deployments; integrate with Protegrity Cloud Protector.
• Implement at-rest encryption with Protegrity Fuse File Encryption.
• Maintain and support Protegrity Data Protection policies.
• Manage integrations with Snowflake and Teradata.

Our client seeks a Cryptography Engineer to lead diverse technology projects focused on data protection, cryptography, and cloud-native security. The role includes hands‑on contributions, collaboration with product and architecture teams, and ownership of Protegrity‑based data protection services across mission‑critical environments.

Rate: $60.00 to $70.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of technology projects with emphasis on cryptography, distributed microservices, and full stack systems to meet regulatory needs.
• Collaborate with Cyber product managers and architecture to deliver cloud‑based security capabilities protecting financial services users.
• Assess security risks for data confidentiality and integrity by identifying vulnerabilities and understanding crypto threat impacts.
• Design and implement cryptographic solutions, including encryption, hashing, and digital signatures, with secure key management and enterprise integration.
• Mature and enhance cryptography governance frameworks, including policies, standards, guidelines, and auditability.
• Serve as SME and lead for a 5x9 mission‑critical environment using Protegrity Data Encryption and Tokenization.
• Deliver automation with Ansible for large RHEL server environments to manage Protegrity agent lifecycle.
• Use Terraform Enterprise for AWS serverless deployments and integrate with Protegrity Cloud Protector.
• Implement at‑rest encryption with Protegrity Fuse File Encryption.
• Maintain, enhance, and support Protegrity Data Protection policies.
• Manage integrations with data platforms such as Snowflake and Teradata.

Experience Requirements

• At least 2 years of cryptography‑related experience.
• At least 3 years in cyber security engineering.
• At least 2 years with cloud‑native technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• At least 2 years of Unix or Linux administration and 1+ year of SELinux experience.
• At least 2 years with Protegrity Data Protection solutions.
• At least 2 years of DevOps experience using Ansible Automation Platform.
• At least 2 years using Terraform Enterprise.
• Preferred: 7+ years in cyber security engineering.
• Preferred: 3+ years with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl, or Ruby).
• Preferred: 4+ years with Protegrity Data Protection platform.
• Preferred: 2+ years with Linux file system concepts (FUSE, GPFS, NFS).
• Preferred: 2+ years with Linux storage subsystems, clustering, high availability, fault tolerance, and replication.
• Preferred: 3+ years with DevOps principles and agile practices.
