Cloud Engineer – Data Protection and Cryptography in Plano, TX is a contract role focused on data encryption, tokenization, and protection policy management. You will lead cryptography projects, collaborate with cybersecurity teams, and mature governance around data protection in a mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities include building cryptographic solutions, cloud-based security, and automation with Ansible and Terraform, while mentoring engineers and staying current with emerging

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2+ years in cryptography.
• 3+ years in cybersecurity engineering.
• 2+ years cloud-native tech (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• 2+ years Unix/Linux administration.
• 2+ years SELinux experience.
• 2+ years Protegrity data protection solutions.
• 2+ years Ansible Automation Platform.
• 2+ years Terraform Enterprise.
• 3+ years coding in Python/SQL/Java/JS/Golang/Bash/Perl/Ruby.
• 4+ years Protegrity Data Protection platform.
• 2+ years Linux file system tech (FUSE/GPFS/NFS).
• 2+ years Linux storage/HA/replication.
• 3+ years DevOps & Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead cryptography and cloud security projects.
• Collaborate with cyber PMs, architects and engineers.
• Assess confidentiality risks and vulnerabilities.
• Design and support cryptographic solutions and key management.
• Mature governance for cryptography, audits and standards.
• Serve as technical lead in a 5x9 data protection environment.
• Support Protegrity encryption and tokenization solutions.
• Develop Ansible automation for Protegrity agent lifecycle on Linux.
• Use Terraform Enterprise for AWS serverless deployments and Protegrity Cloud Protector integrations.
• Implement at-rest encryption with Protegrity Fuse File Encryption.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Protegrity data protection policies.
• Integrate with Snowflake and Teradata data platforms.
• Stay current with tech trends; mentor engineers and review code.
