Job summary

Midpoint Markets in San Francisco is seeking a Trader to join our Trading Operations team. You will ensure trading runs seamlessly, scale strategies to new markets, and build tools that progressively automate the management of our trading activities.

This role primarily follows Asian hours, requires a high degree of autonomy, and we prefer in-person attendance at our office to facilitate team collaboration when needed.

Qualifications

• Deep interest in trading concepts and crypto exchange mechanics.
• Strong problem solving to understand markets and complex systems.
• Analytical skills to quickly evaluate tradeoffs in real time.
• Solid programming ability with exchange APIs and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing automated trading processes: monitoring positions, exposure, and P&L.
• Managing collateral and capital across exchanges to maximize efficiency.
• Building deep understanding of crypto trading mechanics and API constraints.
• Serving as primary contact with exchanges and optimizing market maker participation.
• Troubleshooting system issues and implementing hotfixes as needed.
• Writing and reviewing code that supports trading systems.
• Reconciling accounting data and P&L from multiple sources.
• Opening accounts and creating API keys, handling non-automated trades.
• Identifying process improvements and implementing automations.
