Job summary

Maven Securities seeks a technically adept Operations professional to support US trading desks. You’ll begin with hands-on training and quickly become the primary contact for operational activities across trade, PnL, and cash management.

The role emphasizes automation, data analytics, and robust process improvement. You’ll monitor trading activity, resolve breaks with prime brokers, and reconcile activity across portfolios, working with the London and Hong Kong teams as needed during US hours.

Qualifications

• BA in business/accounting/finance or related discipline.
• 2-5 years operational experience at a market making or proprietary trading firm.
• Ability to respond to queries from front office and other Business Support Teams.
• Experience in a high-pressure, high-volume environment with timely results.
• Knowledge of equity and listed derivative instruments including corporate actions and exercise/assignments.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of VBA/Python/SQL is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring of US trading activity and responding to trader inquiries including booking trades, position organisation and drop copy/FIX messaging monitoring
• Daily monitoring and resolution of trade breaks and fails with prime brokers, clearers, and counterparties
• Daily monitoring and processing of trade lifecycle and corporate action activity in line with trading desk decisions and prime broker elections
• Reconciliation of all trade & cash activity, PnL, positions, and cash balances across all relevant portfolios and accounts
• Work closely with line manager, managing duties and tasks set in a proactive organised manner
• Monitor group email inbox in relation to resolving breaks, settlement activity, fails, buy-ins etc as necessary
• Assist London & Hong Kong Operations teams as needed during US hours
• Perform BAU duties to a high standard and provide assistance in team projects
