Job summary

Chart Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to join the Cryo Systems Engineering group in New Prague, MN.

You will create plans, designs and customer solutions for assigned projects, and develop and maintain process diagrams (P&IDs) based on customer specifications. This role involves performing analyses such as fluid flow and heat transfer, collaborating with sales and suppliers, supporting fabrication and commissioning, and conducting onsite checkouts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• 2 years of experience in engineering, design, fabrication and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
• Experience with SolidWorks CAD modeling.
• Experience with MathCAD calculation software.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3, VIII-1 and NFPA 52/59A is a plus.
• Experience with ERP/PD M tools and pipe stress analysis software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create plans, designs and customer solutions for assigned projects.
• Develop and maintain process instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) based on customer specifications.
• Perform various calculations and analyses such as fluid flow, heat transfer, pressure-building and sizing.
• Assist designers in developing general arrangement and assembly drawings.
• Work with sales teams and customers to understand system requirements.
• Collaborate with strategic suppliers to select components.
• Provide regular design status, BOMs and equipment updates to project management.
• Coordinate with shop and production for fabrication, assembly and shipping.
• Conduct onsite field checkouts and commissioning of equipment.
• Support Proposals Team with quotation assistance.
