Job summary

The California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI) at UCLA is seeking a Project Scientist to support operation of its Technology Centers and DASH HPC cluster with emphasis on cryo-EM workflows, single-particle analysis, and structure determination. The role blends scientific support with method development and user training at EICN.

The successful candidate will lead end-to-end cryo-EM data processing, develop reproducible workflows, and coordinate projects with users, collaborators, and CNSI staff.

Qualifications

• PhD in structural biology, biophysics, computational biology, or related field by start date.
• Experience with cryo-EM data analysis, processing, and structural validation.
• Ability to translate research questions into feasible analysis strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific consultation and feasibility assessments for cryo-EM processing.
• Perform end-to-end single-particle cryo-EM data processing and validation.
• Train users in cryo-EM data processing and DASH use and data management.
• Develop, maintain, and disseminate SOPs and workflow templates.
• Coordinate analysis projects, milestones, and follow-up communications.
