Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Scheduler to coordinate inpatient and outpatient procedures, tests, and surgeries across multiple facilities. The role focuses on efficient use of provider schedules, clear communication with patients and physicians, and adherence to departmental and insurance requirements.

The Scheduler also handles preauthorization, manages clinic schedules to enhance patient experience and productivity, and triages incoming calls appropriately.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of experience in a medical or healthcare setting are required.

Responsibilities

• Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
• Schedules and reschedules patient procedures, tests, surgeries, and exams across multiple facilities.
• Coordinates surgery and procedural schedules with physicians, hospitals, and departments; ensures room availability and required equipment and medications.
• Maintains and leverages strong working relationships with patients, providers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a positive patient experience.
• Adapts to various changes and updates scheduling systems promptly.
• Informs patients with appointment details including date, time, location, and preparation instructions; schedules follow-up appointments as directed by physicians.
