Job summary

Ohio Valley Electrical Services seeks an experienced Business Systems Analyst to work embedded with our teams across divisions in Ohio. You will observe real workflows, document processes, and build practical tools and automations to improve efficiency without adding headcount.

This is an individual contributor role combining business insight with hands-on capability to prototype solutions or to scope work for vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, information systems, or related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
• 5–8 years of experience combining business process analysis with hands-on technical or software development work.
• Ability to build functional tools, scripts, or applications or closely partner with developers.
• Track record of mapping business processes and delivering adopted solutions.
• Experience working with tradespeople, field staff, and office staff to understand workflows.

Responsibilities

• Spend time embedded with teams across divisions to observe how work is performed.
• Build and maintain a backlog of process-improvement opportunities.
• Design, prototype, and build lightweight internal tools, dashboards, and automations.
• Develop or improve tools for proposal writing, take-offs, and estimating workflows.
• Improve communication and information flow between field staff and the office.
• Lead software development when a larger need is identified, directly or via outsourcing.
• Evaluate current software footprint for redundancy and consolidation.
• Lead rollout, training, and adoption of new tools across departments.
• Prioritize and scope improvement projects with department leaders.
• Track impact of implemented solutions and adoption across teams.
• Stay current on AI-assisted development and automation tools.
