Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in cross-border freight operations between US and Mexico.
• Bilingual: Spanish & English (reading, writing and verbal).
• Proficiency with Cargowise and Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrange cross‑border transportation shipments between the U.S. and Mexico border.
• Assign, dispatch, monitor and update shipments using company tools.
• Plan and coordinate the daily schedule of loads.
• Communicate daily with carrier base to establish coverage on freight entering and departing Mexico.
• Negotiate transportation rates and maintain carrier relationships.
• Manage customs paperwork with US and MX Brokers.
• Track shipments from pickup through delivery and provide updates to customers.

Cross-Border Account Manager

The Opportunity-

Steam Logistics is seeking an Account Coordinator with a specific focus on Mexico cross-border shipments. This position is responsible for handling daily operations and communication with our customers, US Brokers, Mexican Brokers, and carrier partners in Mexico & the U.S. This Account Coordinator will need to have general knowledge on how the cross-border world works between the U.S. and Mexico, its particularities, and challenges in order to successfully support Steam Logistics customer‑centric solutions.

Responsibilities‑

• Arrange cross‑border transportation shipments between the U.S. and Mexico border.
• Assign, dispatch, monitor and update shipments, utilizing provided company tools.
• Plan and coordinate the daily schedule of loads.
• Communicate daily with Steam’s carrier base to establish coverage on freight entering and departing Mexico.
• Has daily contact with carriers to determine availability while negotiating transportation rates.
• Maintains and grows relationships with carrier accounts.
• Makes calls to current and potential customers to promote business growth and development.
• Manage customs paperwork with both US and MX Brokers
• Tracks shipment from pickup through delivery (provide up‑to‑date information to customers as needed).

Required Experience & Education‑

• Understands cross‑border market trends and Mexico regulations.
• 2 years of experience in cross‑border freight operations between US and Mexico.
• Experience preferred in dealing with carriers and customs processes in these border crossing markets:
• Laredo/Nuevo Laredo-Colombia
• San Diego/Tijuana-Mexicali
• Nogales
• El Paso/Ciudad Juarez
• McAllen-Brownsville-Pharr/Reynosa
• Experience with Cargowise preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Qualifications & Skills‑

• Bilingual: Must be fluent in Spanish & English (reading, writing and verbal)
• Ability to work in an office setting, multi‑task, and work with a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to make decisions under pressure.
