Job summary

Syngenta Crop Protection is seeking a Heartland Crop Protection Field Development Intern in Ames or Slater, IA. You will work with experienced R&D scientists on projects that support crop protection product development, gaining field, greenhouse, and lab experience and developing technical and leadership skills.

As part of the Emerging Talent Program, you’ll gain hands-on experience, exposure to day-to-day operations, and opportunities to apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges while

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Associate’s, Bachelor's, or advanced degree program in Agriculture or Biological Sciences.
• Continued enrollment through December 2027 or later.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors and outside normal hours.
• Proficiency with basic farm equipment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support trialing activities: planting, treatment application, maintenance, in-field data capture.
• Summarize data and host field tours; collaborate with local sales and agronomy teams.
• Learn to work independently and in compliance with safety guidelines.
• Deliver a final summary presentation of internship project to stakeholders.
• Participate in performance discussions with a supervisor to support growth.

Education

Enrollment in Agriculture/ Biological Sciences program

Graduation date December 2027 or later
