Job summary

Monrovia Plants is seeking a Team Leader to support the Crop Grower Coach in daily plant production tasks such as pruning, spacing, staking, and assembly. You will help organize labor to hit quality and productivity goals, while ensuring safe operations and adherence to MNQ improvements.

The role requires knowledge of a variety of plants, basic math and writing skills, driving a company tractor, and strong communication with coaches and craftsmen.

Responsibilities

• Ensure automation equipment is used for pruning/spacing and that staking/assembly are accurate and timely.
• Assist in assigning job tasks to craftsmen as needed.
• Maintain safe work environment and proper use of PPE.
• Apply MNQ process improvement methods to pruning, spacing, weeding, staking and related tasks.
• Promote the Monrovia brand and support company values.
• Communicate clearly with craftsmen, setting goals and providing feedback.
• Perform other duties to support the company mission.

About the Role

The Team Leader is responsible for assisting the Crop Grower Coach with daily activities that include pruning, staking, spacing, weeding, and assembly of plants. The Team Leader will support the Crop Grower Coach with the daily organization of labor to support priorities and activities to ensure that quality and productivity goals are achieved.

• Ensure that automation equipment is utilized in the process of pruning and spacing and that staking and assembly are performed accurately and timely throughout the department.
• Assist in assigning job tasks to craftsmen as needed.
• Be responsible for making sure that all craftsmen operate in a safe work environment, including the utilization of personal protective equipment.
• Utilize MNQ process improvement methods when performing tasks such as pruning, spacing, weeding, staking, tying and other production related tasks.
• Promote the Monrovia brand and supports the values of the company.
• Communicate effectively with craftsmen by providing clear goals, objectives, and feedback.
• Perform other related duties to benefit the mission of the company as assigned.
