Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks a qualified CRNA to provide anesthesia under the direction of an anesthesiologist for diverse surgical and diagnostic procedures, including cardio-thoracic surgery and cardiac catheterizations. The role includes clinical instruction of anesthesia students.

Requires graduation from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program and current APN-CRNA certification by the Alabama Board of Nursing, plus ACLS, BLS, and PALS credentials.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program is required.
• Work experience may not substitute for education requirement.
• Certified as Advanced Practice Nurse with CRNA specialty by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• ACLS certification required.
• BLS certification from AHA required.
• PALS certification from AHA required.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia under the direction of an anesthesiologist for diverse surgical procedures.
• Include cardio-thoracic procedures and cardiac catheterizations.
• Participate in clinical instruction of nurse anesthesia students.
