Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL, seeks a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to provide anesthesia under the direction of an anesthesiologist for diverse surgical procedures and diagnostic tests, including cardio-thoracic cases and catheterizations.

The role includes participating in clinical instruction of nurse anesthesia students as part of Alabama's largest health system. A competitive compensation package and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program required.
• Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
• Currently certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Specialty by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• Currently certified with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
• Currently certified with Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Currently certified with Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Responsibilities

• To provide anesthesia under the direction of an anesthesiologist for diverse surgical procedures and diagnostic tests or cardio-thoracic surgical procedures and cardiac catheterizations.
• To participate in clinical instruction of nurse anesthesia students.
