Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Critical Power Sales Specialist to grow our Emergency Standby Generator business. You will cultivate relationships with electrical contractors, engineers and end-users, prepare quotations, and manage projects through the full sales cycle with the inside team.

Travel 2–4 nights per month as needed for calls, meetings and training, and contribute to customer support initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years in the electrical industry in sales or field service.
  • Experience with generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution systems and/or switching systems is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate sales opportunities with new and existing accounts.
  • Develop relationships with contractors, engineers and end-users.
  • Create and prepare project quotations as needed.
  • Follow through on opportunities and manage projects through the sales cycle with the inside team.
  • Maintain customer data in CRM and coordinate with the service department for PM agreements.

We are looking for a Critical Power Sales Specialist to help support that mission.JOB SUMMARYThis field sales position is focused on our Critical Power Division. It involves the sale of Emergency Standby Generators by Hipower Systems, a Yanmar company. This mission also involves complimenting products such as transfer switches, paralleling switchgear, UPS systems, battery systems, busway and more, all from leading and well-known manufacturers in the American market.We provide more product-depth inside the critical power market than our competitors. Our in-house service department directly supports everything we sell. We support quick thinking, timely decisions and fast action. A sense of urgency is critical in everything we do.CPS&S has a long-standing commitment to employee development. Ongoing product-specific sales training will be provided at all relevant opportunities.RESPONSIBILITIESCultivate sales opportunities with new and existing accountsDevelop new relationships with key user groups including electrical contractors, electrical engineers and end-usersDevelop key working relationships with local trade associations and user groupsSpend in the field interacting with electrical contractors, consulting engineers and end-usersCreate and prepare quotations for projects as neededDiligently follow through and follow up on every opportunityWork with the inside sales staff to help manage projects throughout entire sales cycle, including submittals, delivery, install, start-up, etc.Actively maintain customer data and sales activity in the company’s CRMWork with other sales teams within the company to warmly hand off leads for other productsCommunicate closely with the branch service department in order to help present a Preventative Maintenance Agreement for customer after-sales supportBe willing and able to participate in overnight travel as needed for sales calls, sales meetings, training, etc. Anticipated overnight travel would average 2-4 nights per monthWork under deadlines as given and be flexible in working hours as dictated by customer needs and schedulesGreat BenefitsHighly Competitive PayMedical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance401k with company matchPaid Time OffPaid TrainingOpportunity for advancementQUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent required. A college degree (ideally in business or related subject), trade school and/or relevant military experience is preferredA minimum of three (3) years of experience in the electrical industry is required, in either sales or field service roles. It also often requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.
