Prime Data Centers is seeking a Critical Operations Technician to join our frontline team in Elk Grove Village, IL. You will troubleshoot and operate data center electrical and mechanical equipment, including generators, switchgear, UPS, PDU, AHUs, and pumps, to maximize uptime and efficiency.
The role involves rounds, logging readings, supervising contractors, and ensuring safety compliance. It is a non-exempt hourly position with a 12-hour night shift (7:00pm–7:00am) and overtime eligibility.
The Critical Operations Technician(s) (COT) are Prime Data Center’s front line responders for hands‑on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand‑by diesel generators, switchboards/switchgears, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.
The COT maintains and follows the processes that maximize customer uptime in the most cost-effective way. Ensures that data center problems are identified and repaired quickly, that contractors deliver quality services, and that internal customer demands are met.
