Job summary

TECO Energy in Florida is seeking a Physical Security Operator to safeguard critical electrical infrastructure. You will monitor CCTV and access control across sites, respond to alarms, and dispatch security teams to incidents while coordinating field communications with internal and external partners.

The role requires knowledge of security technologies, familiarity with NERC CIP standards, and the ability to operate under pressure during emergencies and storms.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and monitoring security technologies (CCTV, access control, alarms).
• Knowledge of security procedures and emergency communications practices.
• Familiarity with NERC CIP standards is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to act decisively under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electronic security systems across multiple sites; respond to alarms and incidents; dispatch security teams.
• Implement security measures aligned with NERC CIP standards; provide training on procedures and communications.
• Coordinate field communications during incidents using radio, satellite, and digital platforms.
• Conduct risk assessments for substations and assets; liaise with law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
