Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an Operating Engineer to maintain and monitor critical building systems under the Engineering Manager, ensuring uptime and compliance with SLAs. The role focuses on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related infrastructure in a demanding environment.

The candidate will analyze operations, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventive maintenance while coordinating contractor activities and maintaining detailed logs for regulatory and client requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or technical training/degree.
• 3+ years in facilities operations, maintenance or engineering.
• Electrical license (01, 07, or 06A).
• Knowledge of BAS and building systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Ability to follow work management processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment.
• Record readings and adjust to ensure proper operation of all systems.
• Analyze operations to identify and resolve problems.
• Oversee contractor activities and ensure proper communication about critical functions.
• Maintain engineering logs, data sheets, and records of building rounds.
• Implement and follow emergency escalation procedures.
• Adhere to Critical Awareness Process and engineering guidelines.
• Support development of complex utility/electrical/mechanical procedures and protocols.
